I am not sure if you are familiar with military life, but periodically we are required to take part in field exercises which can be from two days to two weeks of living out in the desert playing "Army. " At all times, I am no longer than an hour away from home, but I can't regularly come home to care for the boys. The boys are in the 8th grade and attend school from 7:45 until 3:00. I would need in-home care from the evening through 7:00 AM on the days I am in the field. My boys are very self sufficient so duties would be meal preparation, maybe some light housekeeping, and making sure they get to bed on time. I am willing to pay very well for good, reliable care; we can negotiate numbers when the dates are established.
