| We are looking for an energetic, caring, and positive person who has prior experience working in a household as a nanny or mother’s helper to work 20 hours per week in our home. Our daughter is a newborn and my wife is staying home to care for her. For the first few months the job is mostly supporting us as a family - assisting with household work, running errands, shopping and some light food prep (cooking not required). After a few months, once baby takes a bottle, it may be closer to 50 childcare. We have the house cleaned top to bottom regularly by an outside service so although the right person must be happy to help with any household tasks this does not include full responsibility for all cleaning.
Additional details about the job:
• Work environment is a busy but beautiful home in Central Austin near Balcones Drive. I am CEO of an Austin based company. My wife is an graphic artist / designer who no longer works outside our home. This is our first child. We have a well behaved dog who is very much a part of the family.
• Work hours are 7-11 five days per week (20 hours) plus a couple of evenings per month later on. We may have some flexibility on schedule for the right person.
• $12/hr. Taxes withheld.
To be considered you would need to meet these requirements:
• Prior experience working as a nanny, mother’s helper or housekeeper. Other experience caring for children such as camp counselor or nursery school teacher would be great too. We are looking for a long term commitment and want to have some indication from prior work that this is what you want to do.
• Clean driver’s license and reliable car
• Background check clear.
• Fluent or near fluent English
• Somewhat tech savvy –use email, a smartphone, and online resources regularly
• Happy, honest, reliable, able to work independently
Interest in and knowledge of health and organic foods would also be a plus. We have a year-round organic garden.
A resume is great, but we would also like to hear from you in an email when you send your resume. Why is this interesting for you? What are some key things about you that you think make you a good candidate for the job?
This may be a great role for a mature university student. |
