The work schedule would be from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, a full time shift. This job entails working with children who have behavioral problems, so this person must have a stearn approach and not easily intimidated. Also able to pick up a child from school when the need arises throughout the day. There are three children ages 6, 8, and 11. The oldest child is adhd and is on medication. This medication works well for him, and helps him to remain helpful and focused as long as he receives it daily. the second child is 6 years old and is adhd and highly hyper. He is also on medication which helps somewhat, but he is not at the developmental level for his age. This makes it more challenging for him to sit for long periods, without him getting up randomly to do what he chooses. If he is approached from the beginning with a stiff and stearn attitude he can and will be managed. The third and most difficult child is the 8 year old. She had odd or obsessive defiant disorder - which means she cannot manage coping skills well when she cannot have what she wants. She can be aggressive, defensive, and in many instances have to be restrained. She however, can control a large part of this. The key is to not allow her to upset or put the adult on the defensive because this allows her to have her way. With all of this said, I am looking for a person who is equipped to handle these three children in one setting. This person must be strong willed, not easily challenged, and able to stand thir grounds. Some background training in special education, or other type settings for working with agressive or hyper children. The job entails: Arrival to work: 1:00 pm You will let yourself in to start the cleaning - vacuuming, cleaning all bathrooms, sweeping the hardwood floors, washing the children's clothes, folding or hanging up the children's clothes, washing the dishes, cleaning children's rooms and other small duties may be assigned. The cleaning and clothes are not daily, but intermittent throughout the week as needed, except the children's and guest bathroom which is daily. The children will need to be picked up from school at 3:oo pm and transported home. At home they are to change from school clothes, have snack, do homework, and have some free time for tv or play time in their rooms. On tuesdays and thursdays the older child is to be dropped off at the ymca for ti quan do. The eight year old is to be dropped off for girl scouts one wednesday a month. 6:00 prepare pre-planned meals for them 7:30 bath time for them 8:30 bed time - no exceptions Clean-up can be done by the children from snack and dinner - also insure they leave the bathroom clean after bath time, and that they clean their rooms before they go to bed.
